Summer so far in Toronto has been a bit changeable. We have been experiencing more rain and cooler temperatures than seasonably normal. To compensate, I have been basking in the enjoyment of the season, rain or shine, by updating my makeup to create more of a sun kissed look. I like to incorporate oranges, coppers and golden shades, essentially happy colours, into my routine.
Coral, copper, metallic, and blue hues compliment any skin tone in the summer time; it’s just a matter of selecting the right palette for the skin.
I have old and new favourites that I would like to share. For me, makeup really lifts my mood in the mornings; serving as a great way to start the day. I just bring my “brolly” (British for umbrella) wherever I go now.

Number 1.
Covergirl Outlast all day primer. This will hold your makeup all day in any humidity.
Number 2.
Hyper Real Foundation SPF15 in Beyond Bronze FX by Mac Cosmetics. I use this very light tint on my forehead, along my nose and across my cheekbones blended in really well to give a golden glow effect from the sun. I use very little. (Sorry guys, didn’t realize this is now sold out; MAC now has MatchMaster SPF 15 which gives the same finish.)

Iman Blush in Redwood. I love this coral shade for summer time.
Number 4.
Avene Eau Thermal Water Face Spray for Sensitive Skin. I lightly spray this on my face in the afternoons on hot days. It refreshes my makeup.
Number 5.
Eyebrow and Lash Brush by MAC Cosmetics. The best makeup tool ever invented. I apply it to shape my eyebrows as well as even out my mascara on my lashes.
Number 6.
Clarins Light Lip Comfort Oil. This is always in my purse. I sometimes wear this gloss alone; it has a high shine and is very moisturizing because of the honey extract. You can also apply over top of lipstick for a glossy finish. Lasts for hours.
Numer 7.
Estee Lauder Pure Colour Palette Compact for Eyes and Lips. I have used this to death the last two summers and take it with me to tropical locales. It is too messy inside to show you the the colour palette but it has three eyeshadows in pink, gold, and yellow and three lip colours in bronze, deep ruby and golden brown.
Number 8.
L’oreal lipstick in Divine Wine. Beautiful on any skin tone guaranteed.
Number 9.
Ultra HD Lip Colour Lacquer Lip glosses Sunstone and Carnelian both by L’oreal. I apply this on it’s own or over lipstick. (Love orange lip glosses.)
Number 10.
PS PRO Ultra shine lip gloss from Primark in berry and red.
Number 11.
Deep Dimension in blue, purple, pink and orange mascaras from MAC Cosmetics. I love wearing coloured mascara this season. I have been experimenting with these babies. The blue is my favourite; makes a change from traditional black.
