The sun is shining and the temperatures are rising. What does that mean for our skin?
The luxurious, creamy products we needed all winter long are becoming too rich for our spring skin. It’s time to reset our skincare and find solutions for lighter, glow-boosting formulas that will provide powerful hydration without weighing our skin down.
Spring Cleaning
Out with the old, in with the new.
Just as we switch our winter wardrobes to the bold colours and light fabrics of spring, it’s important to look at our skincare routines and evaluate which items will be suitable for the warm months ahead.
Exfoliate & Renew
After a long, cold season, our skin can accumulate dry patches and our cell renewal can slow down and feel sluggish. Because of this buildup, it’s important to exfoliate on a regular basis.
Don’t know where to start? No problem. You can begin with a physical exfoliant like the I’m From Fig Scrub Mask. It removes dead skin cells and gently buffs skin with Fig Powder and Natural Almond Meal.
Alternatively, you can use a chemical exfoliant such as Neogen’s Bio-Peel Gauze Lemon Pads. These brightening pads penetrate deep into the skin to remove congestion and even tone and texture with Vitamin C, Glycolic Acid, and Lactic Acid.
When starting with any new exfoliant product, it’s important to start low and go slow. Begin with a once per week treatment and then use at a frequency that feels good for your skin.
Lightweight Moisture
If you were dealing with temperature drops and blustery winds, you were likely applying a generous amount of rich creams to keep dry skin at bay.
During the spring and summer months, you’ll want to keep your hydration up while opting for a lighter moisturizer. KTW’s Birch Water Mild Facial Cream prevents moisture loss and visibly plumps skin with a blend of Birch Sap, Jojoba Seed Oil, and Squalane.
You may also want to consider a hydrating concentrate for an extra punch of moisture this season. The By Wishtrend Hydra Enriched Ampoule provides intense hydration for parched, dehydrated skin. Use this ampoule under your moisturizer 1-2 times per week to start and see how your skin transforms.
Energize Hair & Scalp
Your skin isn’t the only thing in need of a little TLC after an intense season.
Our hair can become more brittle and dehydrated after being exposed to harsh elements leading to frizziness and breakage. Using a treatment conditioner like Dr. Hedison’s Vital Energy Conditioner will deeply nourish dry strands with rich Shea Butter and seal moisture in with protective Beeswax.
Additionally, adding a scalp massager like Dr. Hedison’s Spa Massager to your wash routine can help exfoliate and stimulate blood flow to the scalp resulting in healthier hair and accelerated growth.
